In June 2025, Mojo is launching a new automated decision-making feature - an algorithm that uses personal information collected to automatically determine eligibility for different discount tiers accessible for potential users. We aim to make our services affordable and accessible to all, at an appropriate but competitive price. This page explains what data we use, why it matters, and how we make sure the process remains responsible and fair.
This feature processes three main types of user data:
This data is processed by the model to determine the most appropriate discount to show on the checkout pricing page, so that it is affordable and accessible to different audiences.
For full details about how we process your personal data, please access our Privacy Policy, which should be read in conjunction with this document.
This feature will process user data given to us throughout the user journey, including special category data such as health and sex life data, which are already collected as part of the existing Mojo Platform. However, the bot's outputs, memory, etc. are all carefully isolated on a per-user basis. The data subject will be able to see and remove memories relating to their account.
Furthermore, we use data that is not personally identifiable to fine tune our model to improve its accuracy over time (detailed in “how the chatbot has been developed” below).
The processing of personal data is necessary for the provision of the Mojo service and the performance of our contract with you as a user. We also ask all users for consent to process special category data, as this is also required for our Platform’s services to work, including use of this specific chatbot feature. Users can still exercise any of their data rights, unchanged with this feature, as described in our Privacy Policy.
We have entered Data Processing Agreements with primary subprocessors of user personal data, including OpenAI and LangChain.
The model uses selected pieces of this data to understand your profile and the context of your visit. This helps to estimate the most appropriate discount tier for your situation. For example, if you’ve answered a poll in a particular way or are from a particular country, the system may interpret that as indicating higher or lower affordability.
As the model has been trained using combinations of all of these data points, it is difficult for the model logic to be clearly explained in terms of X input producing a Y change in the price - that is, no single data point determines pricing by itself. Instead, it looks at overall trends across many users and matches these with your general profile to create a dynamic price point.
We know that these types of information are relevant from previous pricing experimentation, because they allow the model to understand the market context, for example, affordability & accessibility in a certain area, or typical usage patterns. It allows us to adjust prices in ways that are relevant and fair to you, while also reflecting broader market trends. This helps us offer better value and a more tailored experience.
The automated model leads to a variation in price offerings depending on how you interact with our platform - all such variations are discount options from the Mojo base price. However, all pricing remains within a range we consider fair and consistent with our commitment to transparency and avoiding inequitable discrimination, and are never used to unfairly target individuals. Aside from the discount tier offered, the model is not intended to produce any other significant legal or similar effects.
We take the fairness of our pricing model seriously. To make sure the system remains ethical and inclusive, we’ve put a number of safeguards in place:
Our goal is always to provide pricing that is fair and free of unfair discrimination.
You have the right to request a human review of the pricing decision, to share your views or concerns about how your data is used, and to challenge or appeal any automated decision made.
If you would like to exercise any of these rights, just contact us at support@mojo.so and a member of our team will be happy to help.
